<p><strong>Christine Vachon</strong> is an Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award winner who co-founded powerhouse <strong>Killer Films</strong> with partner Pamela Koffler in 1995. Over three decades, they have produced more than 100 films, including some of the most celebrated and important American independent features: KIDS, I SHOT ANDY WARHOL, HAPPINESS, BOYS DON’T CRY, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, FAR FROM HEAVEN, ONE HOUR PHOTO, STILL ALICE, CAROL, BEATRIZ AT DINNER, and DARK WATERS. In television, Vachon executive-produced the Emmy and Golden Globe-awarded miniseries MILDRED PIERCE for HBO as well as the Emmy Award-winning limited series HALSTON for Netflix. Recent releases include Todd Haynes&#8217; MAY DECEMBER (Netflix), starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, and Celine Song&#8217;s PAST LIVES (A24), which earned Vachon her first Oscar nomination in the Best Picture category this year.</p>

He’s been Adjunct Professor at The New School since 2008 and was chosen to be the inaugural President of the Cannes Lions (Festival of Creativity) Music Jury in 2016 , where he was called &#8220;a musical genius.&#8221;<br />
He&#8217;s presented Keynotes at Cannes Lions, Spot (Denmark), ADE (Amsterdam), SXSW, XpoNorth, (Inverness, Scotland), The Whext Festival (Sao Paulo), Music Matters (Singapore), Tokyo Music Market, El Dorado (Bogota, Colombia), Billboard Film and TV (Los Angeles) and The Sync Summit (New York City).<br />

<p><span id="article1_lblBody"><span class="text1">The preeminent professional association for women in the New York entertainment industry, NYWIFT energizes women by illuminating their achievements, presenting training and professional development programs, awarding scholarships and grants, and providing access to a supportive community of peers. NYWIFT is part of a network of more than 60 women in film organizations worldwide, representing more than 15,000 members. NYWIFT produces over 50 innovative programs and special events annually, including the Muse Awards for Vision and Achievement, which honors women in front of and behind the camera, and Designing Women, which recognizes costume designers, makeup artists and hair stylists in the industry.</span></span></p>

<p>Haile Gerima is an Ethiopian film director, screenwriter, writer, producer, and philosopher. He has been a professor of film at Howard University in Washington, DC, since 1975.</p>
<p>After the award-winning <em>Ashes &amp; Embers</em> (1982) and the documentaries <em>Wilmington 10—U.S.A 10,000</em> (1978) and <em>After Winter: Sterling Brown</em> (1985), Gerima filmed his epic, <em>Sankofa</em> (1993). This formally ambitious tale of a plantation slave revolt was ignored by U.S. distributors, but Gerima tapped into African American communities, and booked sold-out screenings in independent theaters around the country.</p>
<p>During his 2010 Hirshon residency The New School organized the screening of this 1993 classic.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Setle is an online platform which lets users trade digital files and payment. Setle provides a solution to issues with late and non-payment often faced by members of the Gig Economy. On Setle, users can create and share project agreements, transfer files, review them and communicate, and complete the delivery with a payment. Users can both deliver files for payment or request files to be delivered to them. Setle provides security and transparency during the process through standardized agreements, paywall preventing unauthorized downloads, automatic watermark on files and a downloadable log of all interactions between users during a given transaction.</span></p>
